Job Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly and / or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely distribution
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off (PTO)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee benefit information in the HRIS system
Act as the point of contact for employees with payroll or benefits-related questions and provide solutions in a timely manner
Reconcile payroll discrepancies and address payroll-related issues promptly
Prepare and file payroll taxes and other government-mandated reports
Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, providing employees with clear guidance on benefits options
Support open enrollment and other benefits-related activities throughout the year
Monitor and track employee time off balances, including PTO, sick leave, and other leave types
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth coordination between payroll, benefits, and employee records
Assist with the preparation of payroll audits, reports, and data analysis as requested by management
Stay up to date on payroll and benefits best practices, tax laws, and other relevant regulations
Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries
Required Education, Experience, and Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field, preferred
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and benefits administration
Proficient in payroll software (Gusto) and HRIS systems
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with employees and management
Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP) or Benefits (e.g., CEBS) is a plus
