Grow with Us! DNA Eye Group is looking for a dedicated Optometric Technician who will assist the optometrist in pretesting patients and is an essential part of our front office team providing exceptional patient care.
• Must be Available to Work “full shifts" 5 out of 7 days each week (WEEKDAYS and WEEKENDS) based on business needs
Working Environment:
• On-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available)
• DNA Eye Group scrub top uniform
• Patient care and customer service
• Sitting, standing, and moving around to different rooms
• Extended periods on the computer and examination equipment
• Multi-phone lines
• Ability to work at different locations
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Customer service and experience in an optometry office are preferred.
Essential Duties:
• Greet patients by providing professional and friendly customer service
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, insurance verifications, patient check-in and out processes, collect copays, patient intake duties, and referrals
• Enter patient data, maintain patient demographics, HIPAA compliance confidential data
• Explain processes to prepare patients for pretesting, perform vision pre-screenings, take legible notes during examinations, transition patients to doctors
• Provide exceptional patient care
• Promptly review and reply to voice messages
• Perform minor maintenance on examination equipment or contact the supervisor
• Daily office cleaning and sanitation of examination equipment
• Perform and document no-show, NEE, and courtesy reminder calls
• Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and fellow teammates
• • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential for our patient care
• Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience using optical pretesting equipment
• Evidence of strong working relationships with doctors
• Experience in customer service
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Ability to self-motivate with the experience of working under pressure
• Optometric technician certification or associate’s degree, optometric technician
• Associates or higher degree in medical, human services, or related fields
