The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of our business and systems.
Responsibilities
- Extract, analyze, and interpret data from multiple data stores, including MS SQL, APIs, unstructured text, and some undocumented systems, to provide comprehensive and actionable reports.
- Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs, leveraging your knowledge of the business to provide new and valuable insights.
- Create and maintain complex MS SQL queries to extract and transform data.
- Create and maintain SSIS packages to extract and process data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Create and administer Microsoft PowerBI dashboards and workspaces.
- Create and maintain SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) to develop and deliver clear, insightful, and easily consumable reports (less SSRS than PowerBI).
- Prepare, cleanse, and integrate data from various sources to ensure it is ready for analysis and reporting.
- Design and implement new systems and processes to enhance efficiency, working with software engineers when needed.
- Serve as the go-to expert for all company data, driving data-informed decision-making and ensuring data integrity.
- Tackle broad and undefined data challenges by using creativity, intelligence, and persistence to develop innovative solutions.
- Present findings clearly and effectively through written and verbal communication, tailoring the message to the audience.
- Seek out and uncover new data connections and opportunities to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Ideal but not required – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Informatics, Business, or a related field.
- Required – 5 years of experience in data analysis, SQL querying, ETL, and Power BI creation.
- Required – Advanced proficiency writing MS SQL queries.
- Required – Advanced proficiency building Power BI dashboards.
- Ideal but not required – experience using SSIS and SSRS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and handle complex and undefined tasks.
- Exceptional curiosity, creativity, and problem solving in approaching data challenges.
- Deep understanding of our business, systems, and how technology works, with the vision to develop new solutions.
