What are the responsibilities and job description for the IEP Team Chairperson, Elementary: 2025-2026 position at Dracut Public Schools?
The Dracut Public Schools is seeking an elementary IEP Team Chairperson for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This position is split between the Campbell and Greenmont Avenue Elementary Schools. This position also receives a stipend in addition regular salary compensation.
The IEP Team Chairperson is responsible for the coordination of all activities and documentation necessary to ensure that students with special needs are provided with a Free and Appropriate Public Education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Act as a liaison between the Special Education staff and building principals regarding issues related to the provision of services to special education students.
* Act as a liaison between general and special education teachers to ensure appropriate programming, data collection and content delivery.
•Schedule and oversee all aspects of the Individualized Educational Program Process and chair IEP meetings for assigned students.
* Facilitate Special Education Team Meetings for assigned students.
•Supervise, consult with, and advise School Evaluation Teams for the purpose of assuring that assessments, reports, educational programs, and service delivery are of the highest quality.
* Supervise, consult with and advise Special Education Liaisons for the purpose of ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations as well as compliance with mandated timelines.
•Coordinate and facilitate the evaluation of students referred for eligibility determinations and for current special education students.
•Assist in the support of the district’s Parent Advisory Council.
•Attend Parent’s Night/Open House, Early Intervention Parent’s Night and other meetings as determined by the Executive Director of Special Education.
•Serve as Liaison to Human Service Agencies
•Make recommendations to the Director of Student Services concerning modifications or development of Special Education programs and services for special needs children
•Participate and assist the Director of Student Services in preparing budget requests, purchase requests, and in requisitioning needed equipment and supplies
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services
COMPENSATION SCHEDULE:
Teacher Contract/Based upon credentials and experience.
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services
EVALUATED BY: Director of Student Services
WORK DAY:Per Teacher Contract;
WORK WEEK:Per Teacher Contract;
WORK YEAR:182 Teacher Contract Days; In addition, the IEP Team Chairperson’s work year shall be extended up to five (5) work days immediately following the school year or preceding the subsequent school year with sufficient notice, credit for seniority and compensation at the per diem rate.
