We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Licensing Consultant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in establishing and maintaining compliance for our Early Intervention (EI) and full-day child care programs. Job Description:
Work 1:1 with the Director of Center Services to :
- Assist with the licensing process for an EI program and a full day child care licensure. This includes the application process, understanding regulations, licensing requirements and inspections
- Meeting with the Director remotely 1-2 times/week
- Provide advice on best practices for running a child care business
- Review and process licensing applications and renewals
Conduct in person inspections of child care facilities to ensure compliance with state and local regulations. Review facility records and assess compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in child care services, licensing, or regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing child care facilities. This includes health and safety standards, staff qualifications, child-to-staff ratios, and the types of services allowed or prohibited for child care facilities.
Understanding policies related to special needs children, child protection, and reporting procedures for any violations of care standards.
Previous experience starting up a child care program in New York
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field.
Experience conducting inspections or audits.
Bilingual abilities.
Assisted in licensure within an EI or Child Care facility
