What you will do
- Help the pharmacist get medications for hospice patients.
- Restock medications in automated dispensing machines at the hospice facility.
- Receive and check restock medication packages when arriving at the hospice.
- Verify medication expiration dates and remove expired medications to ensure safety.
- Sign off on restocked medications before leaving the hospice.
- Select, count, and verify medications for restocking, and prepare FedEx labels for shipments. Return expired medications to the pharmacy using FedEx.
- Assist with inventory checks and controls as needed.
- Work with the hospice and pharmacy teams to meet dispensing machine medication needs.
- Ensure the automated dispensing machine is kept neat, tidy, and organized.
What are we looking for?
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
- Pharmacy Technician license in the state, if applicable
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician required
- Hospice and palliative care experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
- Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred
