This position provides a learning environment that ensures that the company's clients are serviced following the highest standard of quality while maximizing efficiency and productivity while upholding the regulations for treating ponds and lakes. This role is integral to the smooth and profitable execution of work performed by Dragonfly Pond Works and to create futures leaders for the company.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Crew Lead.
- Shadow departments and learn about the operations of the company.
- Identify and treat invasive weeds.
- Visual inspection of pond components.
- Mow, weed-eat, and clean sites.
- Operate various equipment such as Ventrac, Wright Mower, Grandstand Mower, Hedge Trimmer, Chainsaw and String Trimmer.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in natural sciences or compatible environmental studies program and entering Junior or Senior year, preferred.
- Proven interest in working outdoors with a passion for creating and maintaining healthy aquatic systems.
- Desire a full-time five-day work week.
- Relevant work experience is desired but not required.
- Ability to swim.
- Ability to regularly lift 75 pounds.
- Adapt and/or able to improvise quickly, as demanded by conditions or unknown factors
