Assistant General Manager
Job Title: Assistant General Manager - Logistics and Compliance
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Reports to: Director of Retail
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 DOE
Work Schedule: 45-55 hours per week – including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
Position Summary:
The Inventory and Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing both the inventory and delivery departments at our medical cannabis pharmacy. This individual will manage inventory intake, delivery scheduling, and the daily operations of the delivery team, ensuring compliance with all state regulations. With a strong focus on growth and scalability, this role will prioritize expanding our delivery services to drive revenue growth, making strategic improvements to enhance efficiency, and ensuring the highest standard of service for patients. This position will also help with other pharmacy operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory intake and management processes, ensuring accurate and compliant documentation and tracking of all medical cannabis products in accordance with State regulation.
- Develop and implement efficient systems to track and manage inventory levels, minimizing waste and optimizing stock levels.
- Work closely with the compliance team to ensure products and inventory handling meets regulatory standards.
- Develop new and improve existing practices as needed to ensure patient needs are met and regulations are adhered to.
2. Scheduling and Team Management:
- Lead, train, and support the inventory and delivery teams to optimize performance and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Create and manage staff schedules to meet the pharmacy’s operational needs and delivery service demands.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a positive, productive work environment.
3. Delivery Operations:
- Oversee delivery operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of products to patients.
- Monitor key performance metrics, including delivery accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop new and improve existing practices as needed to ensure patient needs are met and regulations are adhered to.
- Manage and refine fulfillment, routing, and logistics processes to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Growth and Scalability Initiatives:
- Work alongside Director of Retail and executive team to develop strategies that align with company objectives and meet patient needs.
- Implement strategies to grow and scale the delivery department as a key revenue source for the pharmacy.
- Analyze market trends and patient needs to expand delivery services and refine product offerings.
- Collaborate with the marketing and business development teams to promote delivery services and drive patient engagement.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all Utah state regulations governing medical cannabis delivery and inventory management.
- Maintain accurate records for all inventory and delivery activities, providing regular reports to management.
- Address any compliance issues promptly, working with regulatory agencies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management and/or delivery logistics, or a related field, ideally within a regulated industry. Experience can be treated as equivalent to education.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in team management and leadership, with the ability to inspire, coach, and drive performance.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance Knowledge: Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software, delivery routing tools, and standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Growth Mindset: Ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, with a strong focus on expanding delivery services to drive revenue.
