Job Overview
Top Wrench Automotive is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our independent team. The ideal candidate will serve as the customer's primary point of contact, ensuring their automotive service needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires strong communication skills and a solid understanding of automotive repair processes to effectively relay information between customers and service technicians, order parts, schedule repairs, make educated suggestions, and document service requests.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of the vehicle, and perform any additional follow-up
- Listen carefully to customer descriptions and assess the vehicle to determine the best repair plan
- Advise the customer on the auto repairs recommended and prepare a pricing quote
- Schedule all auto repairs per industry standard time requirements
- Communicate with parts sellers and place orders to ensure inventory and all parts needed for repairs are on hand before scheduled appointments
- Provide updates to customers as their work is completed
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Maintain organized records of customer interactions, service orders, and follow-ups.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on automotive technology and repair techniques to provide informed recommendations.
