Job Summary :
The Application Development Manager is responsible for designing, building,
implementing, and supporting both vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions that
enhance the core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. This role
ensures business solutions optimize operational efficiency and align with strategic goals
and technology roadmaps.
The manager will oversee a team of core developers and collaborate with business units
and IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions using software development best practices.
This role demands a self-motivated, creative, and agile leader with strong analytical and
interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management :
Lead and supervise the core development team across multiple scrum teams and
business lines.
Oversee resource planning, allocation, and team organization.
Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development for team members.
Ensure alignment with organizational goals through effective leadership.
Software Development & Architecture :
Manage software development lifecycles, version control, and testing practices.
Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable business solutions.
Implement software development best practices and coding standards.
Ensure adherence to compliance and security protocols.
Project & Process Management :
Work closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure timely
project delivery.
Utilize Agile and iterative project management methodologies.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
Maintain relationships with external vendors and integrate third-party solutions
Qualifications :
6 years of experience with financial institution technologies, including :
o Symitar (Jack Henry)
o Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange
o MeridianLink, Encompass, Alogent, ACI, Image Center, Fiserv, etc.
Software Development Expertise :
o Strong understanding of software development methodologies, version
control, and testing practices.
Leadership & People Management :
o Experience in coaching, mentoring, and motivating development teams.
o Ability to influence executive leadership and drive technology initiatives.
Project Management :
Strong grasp of Agile and iterative project management principles.
