Job Description:
We are seeking FUN and energetic Kennel Technicians / Office Assistants to join our fast-paced team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Dog Care: Supervising and assessing the behavior of multiple dogs, ensuring their safety and satisfaction. You will quickly resolve any behavioral issues to ensure every dog enjoys their visit.
- Customer Interaction: Handling administrative tasks such as check-ins, scheduling puppy visits, and providing service details to customers.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility, including kennel areas, play yards, and common spaces.
- General Duties: Assisting with feeding, administering medication, basic grooming (including nail trims), and transporting dogs to veterinary appointments when needed.
- Behavior Monitoring: Conducting canine health checks throughout the day, addressing any signs of aggression or behavioral issues, and notifying management of any changes in dog health or appearance.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Background check required.
- Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Basic PC and telephone skills; knowledge of Excel is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prior experience in a kennel or pet care facility is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and coworkers.
- Ability to work well within a team and take direction from management while also taking initiative as an individual.
- Must be comfortable staying off personal cell phones while on duty.
Shift Details:
- AM Shift: 6:00 am – 1:00 pm
- PM Shift: 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
- Positions available for both full-time and part-time shifts.
Responsibilities Include:
- Recognizing and performing specific care needs as communicated by pet guardians and following company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all dogs' belongings are returned to their guardians at the end of each visit.
- Conducting health checks and behavior observations and discussing these with pet parents during pick-up.
- Assisting with basic dog grooming and nail trims.
- Performing janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies, and overall kennel cleaning maintenance.
- Accurately entering data and maintaining records.
- Attending regular internal training classes as necessary.
- Ensuring the facility is always clean and safe for both pets and staff.
