\n- The Housekeeping Dispatcher plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring effective communication, assignment coordination, and the timely completion of tasks. Under the direction of Housekeeping Management, this role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for both guests and staff, while ensuring smooth operations and prompt responses to all housekeeping needs.
- Assign daily tasks to housekeeping attendants (AM and PM shifts) to ensure efficient operations.
- Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, logging and dispatching all requests immediately.
- Monitor and respond to dispatch radios, managing communication between housekeeping, the front office, and supervisors.
- Dispatch guest requests and supervisor calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping logs, including shift attendance reports and room status updates.
- Coordinate and deliver guest requests in a timely manner, ensuring rooms are ready for occupancy.
- Reconcile boards and keys at the end of each shift.
- Continuously communicate with the Front Office and Supervisors to verify the status of guest rooms.
- Ensure the timely completion of guest requests and tasks within the appropriate timeframes.
- Assign radios and keys to housekeeping staff, ensuring proper tracking and usage.
- Report maintenance issues or problems identified by supervisors, managers, or attendants.
- Assist with any tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of all equipment and work areas.
- Follow emergency procedures as needed in accordance with hotel standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant custodial experience (hotel experience is a plus).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff and management.
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multitask under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varying shifts.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to handle emergency situations and resolve problems quickly.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English and visually inspect work areas.
- Stamina to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, and kneel for up to 5 hours.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for extended periods.
- Lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs consistently.
- Work hours may vary, with most housekeeping shifts running from 8 am to 5 pm, including weekends with two weekdays off. While primarily indoors, travel between rooms and occasional outdoor exposure is required.
- Exposure to inclement weather, potentially hazardous chemicals (solvents, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers), misdirected golf balls, and rapid equipment movement is common. Safety compliance is crucial to prevent injuries from environmental conditions and equipment hazards.
