Warehouse Manager Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our non-cannabis warehouse and related equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our storage facilities, supply production with required materials, managing inventory, and leading a team of warehouse staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and securing goods.
- Assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, and terminating processes as needed.
- Leads, trains, and motivates warehouse staff to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
- Oversees the coordination of full truckload (FTL), less than truckload (LTL), and courier service shipments, ensuring optimal logistics.
- Supervises and coordinates the work of warehouse staff, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, equipment, and products.
- Establishes and rigorously enforces safety standards and procedures to mitigate risks in the warehouse as well as all other areas of the operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the warehouse is clean and organized, and that all materials are stored in a safe and secure manner.
- Maintains accurate inventory levels, conducts regular audits, and implements measures to minimize loss or damage.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and maintains a safe working environment.
- Accountable for precise management of inbound and outbound transfers between the warehouse and production areas.
- Guarantees the safe handling of products, ensuring pallets are securely wrapped and correctly stored at all times.
- Ensures that all products are dispatched with the necessary documentation and are loaded efficiently to meet scheduled timelines.
- Responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate loading and unloading of trailers and shipping containers.
- Continuously seeks ways to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepares and presents regular reports on warehouse operations and performance metrics.
- Consistently inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Abides by all Company operating polices.
- Other responsibilities may be required based on business needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of warehousing/logistics industry's legal rules and guidelines.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- 5 years of Warehouse Manager experience or a similar leadership role in a warehouse setting.
- Cannabis Industry experience - preferred.
