Job Summary : The restaurant server is responsible for greeting and seating guests, taking food and drink orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction in a timely and friendly manner. Servers must maintain a clean and organized work area, collaborate with kitchen and bar staff, and assist with other duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greeting and Seating Guests :
Welcome guests to the restaurant, provide menus, and offer assistance with seating.
Explain the menu, including specials and promotions, and answer questions about menu items.Taking Orders :Accurately take food and drink orders from guests and relay them to kitchen or bar staff.
Make recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.Ensure all special requests or modifications are communicated to the kitchen.Serving Food and Beverages :Deliver food and drinks to tables promptly and accurately.
Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and attend to any additional needs.Refill drinks and bring extra condiments as needed.Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization :Keep work areas, tables, and dining areas clean and organized.
Bus tables after guests finish eating and prepare them for new guests.Handling Payments :Present checks to guests, process payments (cash, credit card, etc.), and provide change as necessary.
Operate the register and ensure accurate billing.Customer Service :Provide exceptional service to create a positive dining experience.
Address guest complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.Ensure guest satisfaction and go above and beyond to meet their needs.Team Collaboration :Work closely with kitchen, bar, and other service staff to ensure smooth operations.
Assist other team members as needed, including clearing dishes, restocking supplies, or covering shifts.Other Duties :Help with opening or closing the restaurant, including cleaning and setting up for service.
Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and promotions.Requirements : Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent customer service skills and a friendly attitude.Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.Work Environment :
Fast-paced, busy restaurant setting.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
