What are the responsibilities and job description for the AmeriCorps Program Specialist position at DreamTree Project?
Purpose:
To coordinate and facilitate its AmeriCorps Program, the Enchanted Circle Corps (ECC), on behalf of DreamTree Project. The ECC is a Taos-based AmeriCorps Program that places ECC Members for terms of service at various nonprofit organizations in Taos County, including NEST (a local crisis shelter). The NEST Program Specialist is responsible for supporting NEST and its ECC Members in day-to-day service activities and providing guidance to ensure all ECC Program requirements are appropriately met in a timely manner. The NEST Program Specialist will work closely with DreamTree Project staff, including the ECC Program Manager, ECC Host Site partners and Members; and the local community. The NEST Program Specialist will be cross-trained to support all ECC Host Sites and Members (NEST and other Sites) and to meet all AmeriCorps requirements; all activities and responsibilities will be in coordination with the ECC Program Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment of AmeriCorps Members for placement at the NEST Host Site;
- Coordinate with and support the NEST Host Site throughout the recruitment and Member(s) hiring
- Assist with the ECC Member on-boarding process including initiating criminal and driving background checks, fingerprinting, administrative paperwork, appropriate documentation, etc.
- Assist with AmeriCorps trainings (Host Site Supervisor and Member) as assigned; publish a training schedule for the service year. Act as a liaison with the Serve NM Commission for Host Sites and Members regarding any AmeriCorps issues
- Assist with Host Site Team Meetings as necessary to ensure NEST and all partners are informed and up-to-date on short and long term requirements and support the Host Site Supervisor(s) as needed
- Assist with weekly ECC Member Team Meetings
- Schedule and participate in weekly individual ECC Member Meetings to provide mentoring, coaching and guidance
- Assist in the planning and coordination of mandatory Community Service Evens (a minimum of 3 events per year)
- Schedule a Host Site visit within the NEST Host Site Supervisor(s) quarterly throughout the program year
- Responsible for ensuring all grant requirements are met including managing Member service time and activities and maintaining accurate documetation
- Assist with producing programmatic reports as required by Serve NM Commission and the Corporation for National and Community Service
- Responsible for management and oversight of NEST ECC Members, as it relates to the overall AmeriCorps Program; maintain Members' files as required by the grant; and oversee any disciplinary actions that may be necessary
- Coordination and communication with the ECC Program Manager in planning, preparation, management and oversight of the overarching ECC Program (NEST and non-NEST portions)
- Act as backup to ECC Program Manager as assigned
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

- Coordinate and support the ECC Program Manager, Host Sites and Members to ensure timely completion of all required program training, documentation and reporting
- Capable of leading meetings and presenting to groups as necessary; responsibilities may include: meeting agenda/presentation creation; meeting facilitation; provide guidance and /or background program information; record/document the event
- Moderate technology literacy to include: ability to use a computer for communication, research and reporting. Capable of using an online calendar, creating and submitting documentation online to funders and partners
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of relevant work/service experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 years of relevant work/service experience
- At least one year of human service or customer service experience

- Provide documentation to demonstrate status: citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States
Additional Compensation:
- $100 = 30 Days after start date
- $100 = 60 Days after start date
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
