Job Description

Position Overview : We are seeking a proactive and organized Fleet Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of a fleet of 15 vehicles listed on a peer-to-peer carsharing platform. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring the vehicles are well-maintained, available for rental, and meet the expectations of both customers and the platform's policies.

Key Responsibilities :

Fleet Operations & Management :

Manage the daily operations of 15 vehicles listed on a carsharing platform.

Monitor vehicle availability and ensure timely pickup and drop-off logistics.
Maintain vehicle utilization rates and optimize vehicle scheduling.

Vehicle Maintenance & Condition :

Ensure all vehicles are regularly maintained, including routine service checks (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) and addressing mechanical issues promptly.

Oversee cleanliness and cosmetic upkeep of vehicles, ensuring they meet platform standards.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and any incidents.

Customer Experience & Communication :

Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns regarding vehicle condition, availability, or rental procedures.

Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries including troubleshooting any issues with vehicle access or functionality.

Implement strategies to maximize positive customer reviews and ratings. (Goal : >

4.9 out of a 5-star rating system)

Fleet Monitoring & Reporting :

Track the location, condition, and status of all vehicles using telematics and fleet management software.

Generate regular reports on fleet performance, usage trends, and any maintenance or repair costs.

Cost Management & Optimization :

Control operational costs associated with vehicle maintenance, fuel, and repairs.

Analyze fleet performance and recommend changes or upgrades to optimize costs and improve vehicle performance.

Monitor fuel consumption and develop strategies to minimize costs while maximizing fleet efficiency.

Platform Integration :

Ensure smooth integration of fleet management processes with the carsharing platform, including vehicle availability, pricing updates, cleaning / smoking violation reporting, late return, gas not topped off, unreported damage, and any other platform-specific requirements.

Use the carwash and clean the interior of cars when needed.

Report within 24 hours of drop off any issues related to improper use, return.

Stay updated with the platform’s policies, terms of service, and best practices for fleet management.

Safety & Compliance :

Ensure all vehicles comply with local laws and regulations, including insurance requirements, vehicle inspections, and emissions standards.

Maintain a safe fleet by ensuring regular safety checks and addressing any issues that may pose a risk to users or the platform.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications :

Proven experience in fleet management, car rental, or a related field.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and repair processes.

Experience with fleet management software or carsharing platforms is a plus.

Ability to work independently and manage a fleet with minimal supervision.

Basic knowledge of insurance, legal compliance, and safety standards for vehicles.

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to clean cars and perform minor maintenance.

Working Conditions :

Part-time, with flexible evening hours (6pm to 11 : 59pm) to accommodate vehicle bookings and maintenance needs. Expect at least on drop off / pick up each day, especially in the peak season (Jun - Oct).

Likely involve occasional weekend work, depending on customer demand and previously agreed hours of operation for the fleet.

Must reside and have a primary job / student status in Zip code within 10 minutes driving from PWM Airport (Portland Jetport).
