Project Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and sometimes installing components, structures, or equipment as part of a specific project. They work with various materials, such as metal, wood, plastics, or composites, and utilize a range of tools and equipment to meet project requirements.
Role and Activity
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Study project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements and dimensions of the fabricated components.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials for the project, considering factors like strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Cutting and Shaping: Use tools such as saws, drills, shears, and CNC machines to cut and shape materials according to the project design.
- Welding and Joining: Weld, bolt, screw, or otherwise join materials together, ensuring the components are securely connected.
- Assembly: Assemble fabricated components into larger structures, following detailed instructions and project plans.
- Quality Control: Inspect the finished components and structures to ensure they meet the project's quality and safety standards.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on fabricated structures or equipment when necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the project's successful completion.

WORK ENVIRONEMENT
In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.
The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $33.85
