What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Cart Manager position at Drift Cafe?
The Drifter Acai Cart is hiring! Please see our instagram @DriftCafeNPT for reference. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, dedication to consistent presentation standards, and the ability to self-manage. This employee will need to drive the small trailer to and from locations in Newport, set up the trailer and generator, prepare acai bowls, serve guests, and receive payments. He or she will need to maintain a clean work station and observe safe food handling practices.
Starting pay is $15/hr plus tips.
Employees are responsible for a consistent schedule throughout the summer which requires work Fridays through Sundays. Additional hours are available. Work typically begins at 10:30am and may go to 7 pm. Folk Fest and Jazz Fest Event days begin at 6:30AM and may go to 1:30PM. These hours include preparing the cart for service, transportation to and from location, and cleaning and preparing the station for the next day.
Drift Cafe has a reputation for providing excellent products and service to our guests. As Cart operator, you will be expected to perpetuate this reputation with minimal supervision. Applicants must have a clean driving record.

When
- Minimum 4 days, Friday-Sunday a must
- Folk Fest (7/24 Prep, 7/25-7/27) & Jazz Fest (7/31 Prep, 8/1-8/3)
What:
- Driving and setup
- Stock cart using detailed list. (napkins, utensils, sorbets, fruits, toppings, etc.)
- Prep using a detailed par list. (cutting fruit, stocking ingredients)
- Preparing Instagram Reels with the daily location
- Serving customers (recording orders,taking payments, preparing bowls)
- Maintain cart cleanliness and return the cart to homebase
