JOB SUMMARY
An Event Meeting Manager at Margaritaville Lake Resort is responsible for generating room nights and group room revenue with our group customer. The mission is to increase group room revenue from assigned accounts and book group room nights and revenue from incoming leads received by telephone, email, or walk-in visits, all while maintaining the company’s vision and values.
Parameters of the Event Meeting Manager: Sell and service groups between ten (10) and seventy (70) rooms per night on peak night.
The Event Meeting Manager will become an expert on all aspects of Margaritaville Lake Resort regarding group events. The majority of this manager’s time is spent building customer relationships, uncovering needs, and presenting ways that Margaritaville Lake Resort can add value, all with the goal to create successful events for the customer. The Event Meeting Manager is the “steward” of the customer relationship, acting as the point person for all activities with the group, as they provide customer service after the sale. The Event Meeting Manager will coordinate and communicate all details regarding their group’s activities to other departments in the hotel, following up to ensure delivery of service to meet their customer’s expectations.

Essential Job Functions
- Comprehensive knowledge of Margaritaville Lake Resort’s market position, banquet and food and beverage revenues, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning.
- Knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the area.
- Knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.
- Follow sales policies and procedures as developed in the annual Marketing Plan.
- Develop customer base necessary to meet goals, utilizing existing accounts and new accounts from incoming leads.
- Prospect accounts for new business.
- Conduct site tours with potential clients and existing clients.
- Attend trade shows as requested.
- Achieve and exceed individual and team goals as established by the annual Marketing Plan.
- Knowledgeable of the overall revenue of bookings and to periodically evaluate, assess, and revise the parameters of bookings.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department.
- Maintain procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets.
- Maintain detailed records of discussions with guest, including room accommodations, all prices quoted and details committed for all meeting setups, food and beverage, transportation, etc.
- Upsell to improve revenue generation on property.
- Be readily available during functions for consultation with client.
- Serve as the liaison between the client and the hotel staff, providing direction to the hotel staff to accomplish the client’s needs.
- Flexible schedule required to accommodate client needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Promptly respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Good computer skills with proficiency on the internet and Microsoft Office software while preparing proposals, estimates, and Group Sales Agreements.
