Night PIR/Cherry Picker Selector

POSITION SUMMARY: This is an overnight position responsible for selecting PIR product in high slots utilizing a cherry picker machine. The PIR selector position is a material handling, labor intensive job which processes work orders in the warehouse by manually selecting the correct products from high racks & palletizing them. The position is responsible for delivering the merchandise to the dock in a safe and efficient manner. Employees in this role may also be asked to select from regular picking slots using an electric pallet jack. Employees in this role have productivity standards they must meet. The work takes place in a normal warehouse environment as well as in cooler & freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
· $18 - $21/hour with incentive based pay
· $1100 retention bonus over the span of 1st year of employment (must meet attendance & safety requirements)

SCHEDULE:
· Sunday – Thursday
· 4 – 6 PM start time to when the work is done (no definitive end time)
· Worked holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk
· Lift and move cases (selecting product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder and overheard
· Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases
· Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hadns and arms
· Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment
· Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
· Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have experience with SP3000-4000 cherry picker forklift & PE4500 stand up electric double pallet jack
· Perform all pre-shift duties including warm up and safety checks on all equipment
· Work in multi-temperature areas as assigned
· Meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy while working in a safe manner
· Perform various post-shift duties that could include: clearing aisles of all debris, returning pallet jack to charging area, and hook up jack for battery charging. Stacks empty pallets from slots in aisle. Clean up any spills and places damaged product in recoup area. Complete any related paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Qualifications:
· High school education or equivalent preferred
· Must be able to read alpha and numeric codes from pick sheets and slots
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior warehouse, selecting, material handling or food handling experience preferred
· Voice selection software experience preferred
· Recent experience in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, a selector regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single/double pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from below zero in the freezers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The PIR selector works in high and precarious places.
