Job Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS: Anticipates safety problems in work areas and takes immediate action to work with the area supervisors, team leads, department managers, and the J.H.S.C. to correct unsafe conditions or actions. Discusses safety in team meetings, completes safety inspections on a routine basis, and ensures compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures. Point of contact for any major disruption which includes but is not limited to major downtime, major quality issues, high scrap, on-time delivery issues, etc. Anticipates quality problems in work areas and takes immediate action to correct, contain, communicate, and prevent quality issues. Ensures all production key measurable targets are met or exceeded. Form cross functional teams as required if any targets are not met, perform root cause analysis, and create an action plan to meet targets. Lead Tier 3 meeting with all department leads on the off-shift to ensure all customer requirements are met and, as needed, escalate concerns to Department Managers. Identifies opportunities for common mistake proofing and continuous improvement. Coach and mentor Team Leads on employee performance concerns and provide support and guidance in regard to employee coaching and/or corrective actions. POSITION REQUIREMENTS PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manufacturing Environment: 80% standing and walking the production floor. Physically fit and able to lift 25-35 pounds. Sits, walks, or stands for prolonged periods of time. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a combination of an equivalent Technical Degree/Certification and experience. WORK EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL TRAINING: 5 years of relevant experience in a Class-A automotive manufacturing environment required. 3 years of relevant prior supervisory/management experience of assembly Class-A automotive experience preferred. Experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills is required. Must have an understanding of production, tooling equipment, automation, and technology as it relates to the automotive industry.
