Truck Dispatcher
Job Description
A Truck Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules of truck drivers to ensure timely delivery of goods. They oversee the dispatching process, communicate with drivers to provide instructions and support, and handle customer inquiries and issues. Their role is crucial in maintaining efficient logistics operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
We are seeking an experienced Truck Dispatcher to manage our dispatch operations efficiently and profitably. The goal is to optimize driver schedules, improve delivery times, and maintain positive customer relationships by resolving inquiries and issues effectively. This position aims to increase operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and loyalty while meeting the organization's logistical objectives.
What you’ll be doing?
Looking for an organized and goal-oriented Dispatcher to help keep our operations running smoothly. You will assist with equipment receiving and data entry into inventory spreadsheets. There will be clerical filing and sorting. General dispatching duties (i.e. printing shipping BOL’s and load sheets). Must be capable of answering phone calls and emails to assist customer questions with the use of problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities. We are looking for someone with a Trucking background and/or a background in Trucking Dispatch. Experience with TMS dispatching software highly desirable. Must know Excel, Office, and Outlook.
To be considered:
Experience with programs such as Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Office
TMS Dispatching Software
Effective time management and multi-tasking
Organized and attention to detail
Problem Solving Skills and decision-making abilities
High typing speed and accuracy are desirable
Outstanding abilities to communicate in person, in writing and over the phone
Great customer service skills, including a personable and positive attitude
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Bi-lingual a plus
