Job Summary:
The Project Manager would be responsible for all aspects of our contracted shuttle transportation operations on a variety of projects. In short, we will operate a transit system with in the Salt Lake Valley.
This position requires an entrepreneurial spirit tempered with the ability to thrive in a compliance-forward environment. Please be advised, that this is not a position well-suited to "clock-watchers"; It is however an excellent fit for a leader with project management experience in any transportation filed or in managing transit or shuttle routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be organized, experienced at all aspects of commercial vehicle transportation regulations specifically in the passenger area, with the ability to lead, coach and guide in the areas of expertise, with influence and education. The successful incumbent will be an excellent resource and teammate, and perform at a high level of effectiveness with a diverse group of constituents on a consistent basis.
- Planning, organizing, and managing buses/operators to ensure work is consistent with brand standards.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Accountable for all “Essential duties and responsibilities” listed below.
- Responsible for hiring Supervisors and drivers and onboarding.
- Oversees dispatches replacement buses/operators for vehicles involved in accidents or incidents and buses and operators for special services.
- Ensure completion of Day-to-day operational performance and deliverables.
- Monitor and enforce system for compliance with State and Federal regulations, Company policy, contractual obligations of clients.
- Ensures employee’s fitness for duty.
- Responsible to for reducing the use of overtime.
- Coordinates and cooperates with maintenance personnel to ensure efficient bus allocation to meet revenue service requirements.
- Perform day-to-day dispatch services from the Control Center and various field locations.
- Maintenance and compliance of transportation vehicles and drivers.
- Promote a culture of safety and service in a fluid transit environment.
- Develop/maintain the policies, procedures, and standards of operation to provide the company's scheduled shuttle transportation services.
- Investigate and resolve service and mechanical issues.
- Compliance with environmental and government regulations.
- Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, BS in Business or related field preferred.
- Previous Project Manager experience with Passenger, fleet, or trucking transportation industry DOT knowledge.
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, e-mail, and/or database software preferred. Basic computer skills are required.
- Must be hospitable, guest/customer service oriented, and be willing to serve the needs of passengers.
- Must be able to work flexible days and hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.
- Must be able to operate the company vehicle without the use of DOT prohibited adaptations.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (level A or B) with Passenger endorsement. We can train.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOT Physical examination.
Eligibility Requirements:
· Work in SLC with travel to other locations as needed.
· Legal authorization to work in the United States.
· 23 years or older for company vehicle insurance requirements.
· Undergo a pre-employment background investigation
· Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.
· Must be willing to submit to criminal background screening.
· Project Management or Transit/Shuttle operations experience
Pre-Employment Physical:
Must undergo a pre-employment drug test and physical by a company appointed physician/facility and receive clearance.
