What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Manager position at DRT Aerospace, LLC?
DRT Aerospace is looking to add a Materials Manager to their team in Sidney, OH. This individual would be responsible for full processes start to finish, managing a team of 3-8 people, and constant flow of communication through multiple departments. Expected to manage and coordinate the distribution of materials for production. Performs analysis of materials and determines optimum control levels.
Responsibilities:
- Manage MRP reports and lists.
- Track parts to ensure their completion dates.
- Review workload in the manufacturing areas.
- Coordinate bottlenecks with supervisors.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings about workflow, policies, outsourcing, etc. involving various Departments.
- Maintain data integrity via computer skills for data including cost, safety stock, lead-times, minimums, multiples, supplier data and other ERP fields.
- Communicates with various departments to maintain a constant flow of materials, processes and information.
- Coordinates information from engineering, purchasing, production control and manufacturing to support the master schedule.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: including Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Associate’s degree or equivalent knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Math and blueprint reading skills necessary to understanding routing of work throughout the Company.
- Strict attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- ERP software - LN or Baan highly preferred
Required Skills:
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers including decimals and fractions. Uses simple formulae, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules. Checks reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.
- REASONING ABILITY: Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
