What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in Rosslyn, VA (hybrid: 2 days/week onsite). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracting and consulting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a Controller role. This position involves overseeing financial management, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: The Controller will oversee the execution of accounting policies, revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. You will maintain corporate accounting (A/P, A/R, invoicing, payroll, JE’s, and reconciliations) and ensure timely and accurate financial and project data. You will maintain indirect cost structures, budgets, forecasts, and annual incurred cost submissions, as well as GL.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to government regulations like FAR, DCAA, GAAP, taxes, and corporate government contracts (GSA, IDIQs, etc.), and manage financial risks associated with contracts.
- Delivery Support: Partner with delivery teams to track and report on project financials effectively.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial operations for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on financial performance and address any concerns proactively.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a Controller role in the government contracting sector, working for small to midsize organizations. 12-15 years of overall progressive accounting experience. Expertise in the FAR, DCAA regulations, GAAP, taxes and corporate government contracts.
- Skills: Strong financial management, compliance, and risk management skills. Familiarity with Unanet.
- Certifications: CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
