General Summary: Segment Marketing Manager
This dynamic role of Segment Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at driving demand, accelerating growth, and expanding our presence within the assigned market segment. In this role, you will identify opportunities to refine our product offerings and better meet the needs of our customers. By gathering and analyzing market and customer insights, you will shape data-driven marketing strategies that prioritize high-impact initiatives.This position requires a strategic thinker with strong tactical execution skills. You will collaborate closely with sales, product management, and external distribution partners to meet growth objectives and enhance our brand's presence in the assigned industry. Your ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution will be key to delivering successful outcomes.
Objectives of this Role:
- Strategic Alignment: Understand business objectives and help shape strategies that drive growth and profitability within the assigned segment.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research on customers, competitors, and market segments to identify opportunities for refining product offerings and better meeting the needs of our customers. Develop reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations based on collected data.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze marketing and sales data and metrics to monitor performance, optimize campaigns, and report on key performance indicators.
- Industry & Competitive Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, customer demographics, and competitor activities to anticipate changes and recommend strategic adjustments when necessary.
- Marketing Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategic and tactical marketing plans to achieve business goals within the assigned segment. Lead innovation and identify opportunities to drive sustained profitable growth.
- Value Proposition & Messaging: Collaborate with the commercial team to create value propositions, messaging, and product positioning that align with customer needs and market insights, while enhancing existing offerings and supporting new product launches.
- Sales Enablement: Develop tools and resources to support sales and distribution channel partners, helping to generate, progress, and close opportunities. Work closely with sales to ensure alignment and optimize the sales funnel.
- Campaign Management & Demand Generation: Support multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive lead generation, enhance market visibility, and improve digital marketing reach. Leverage marketing automation tools to refine customer journeys.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct market research to gather customer insights, analyze trends, and monitor competitor activities. Use this data to inform marketing strategies, product development, and decision-making.
- Data & Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on marketing program performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Optimize return on investment by refining strategies based on data-driven insights.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, product, business analytics) to ensure cohesive marketing strategies and execution. Provide regular updates to senior management on marketing activities and outcomes.
- Customer Engagement: Drive high-value customer experiences through a deep understanding of the buyer’s journey and by capturing the "Voice of the Customer" (VoC) through surveys, interviews, and direct feedback.
- Thought Leadership & Industry Expertise: Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and market conditions. Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and develop thought leadership initiatives to enhance brand presence.

- Adept at using a variety of approaches (spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and data visualization) to present findings in a clear and engaging manner.
- Knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
- Familiar with ethical standards and regulations related to market research and data privacy
- Advanced computer literacy skills and a facility with search engines and web analytics
- Superb ability to multitask while paying attention to detail
- Experience working as a Segment Marketing Manager or in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in strategic marketing, business administration, and/or an engineering discipline
- MBA a strong plus
- Alternate education and experience considered based on individual candidate.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to present information to all levels of employees and outside vendors.
- Experience working with tools to analyze web analytics (Google Analytics/Tag Manager/Console), search engine optimization (SEMrush or equivalent), PPC and paid search marketing, CRM programs (Salesforce), and business research tools

- Standing, up to 2 hours per workday
Travel Requirements: This role requires the ability to frequently visit hospital labs, customers, distribution partners, and trade shows.
