What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Base Intervention Counselor (School Calendar) position at Drug Abuse Treatment Association, Inc., (DATA)?
If you are passionate about working with youth and helping them succeed, look no further! We have a position open for a School-Based Intervention Counselor! School-Based Intervention Counselors provide evidence-based treatment (A-CRA, MI, CBT) to individuals at risk or with a diagnosed substance use disorder. This important position reports to the licensed Director of School-Based Programs. This position requires flexibility and includes the following responsibilities:
·Identifying students whom may benefit from the program;
·Conducting comprehensive intake assessments (biopsychosocial);
·Collaboratively develop an individualized, strengths-based treatment plan;
· Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy in your assigned school;
· Respond to crises utilizing verbal de-escalation interventions;
·Identify unmet needs and facilitate linkages to community providers; and
·Participate in school-based meetings when requested.
Must be able to pass a Level II Background Screening, School District background screening, urinalysis test, and have a valid Florida Driver’s License, and insured personal, reliable transportation.
Education & Experience: Must have a Master’s Degree in the healing arts from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field. Experience working with youth with behavioral health issues preferred. Experience in navigating Microsoft Word and Excel and web-based programs is essential. Bilingual a plus.
Hours of Position: Follows the School District.
