We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our educational team. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with personal, social, or academic issues.
- Conduct behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs.
- Develop and implement behavior management plans tailored to individual student requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive educational environment.
- Facilitate crisis intervention services for students experiencing acute emotional distress or trauma.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation of student interactions and counseling sessions.
- Offer guidance on college readiness, career exploration, and personal development.
- Promote mental health awareness through workshops and educational programs within the school community.
- Provide support for students dealing with PTSD or other trauma-related issues.
Qualifications
- Bacholros degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
- Valid state certification or licensure in school counseling or mental health counseling.
- Experience in child family counseling and crisis intervention preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in medical documentation practices related to counseling services.
- Knowledge of resources available for mental health support within the community.
