Position: Director of Account Management
Location: Remote (US-based, preference for candidates in Portland, Boston, or SF Bay Area)
About the Role:
As the Director of Account Management, you will build and lead our Account Management function, ensuring strong customer retention and revenue growth. You will develop and execute strategies to drive seamless renewals, identify expansion opportunities, and enhance the overall customer experience. This is a high-impact role that requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.
Responsibilities:
Renewals & Expansion
- Own the renewal process across all accounts, ensuring high retention and contract closures.
- Monitor Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) and Net Revenue Retention (NRR), driving expansion and upsells within the existing customer base.
- Identify and execute strategies to expand relationships within accounts by uncovering new business units, use cases, and stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Process Development
- Build and lead the Account Management function, hiring and developing talent as needed.
- Define scalable processes and playbooks for renewals, expansions, and proactive customer engagement.
- Implement systems and reporting frameworks to track account health, engagement, and renewal likelihood.
Customer Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales Leads to ensure seamless handoffs from new business acquisition to ongoing account management.
- Provide product feedback to internal teams based on customer usage data and renewal conversations.
- Collaborate with Marketing to leverage customer testimonials, case studies, and referrals.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or Sales, with 3 years in a management role.
- Proven track record of driving renewals, expansions, and revenue growth in a B2B SaaS or subscription-based business.
- Experience managing an enterprise customer base with complex contracts and procurement processes.
- Strong ability to build and scale an account management function, including process development and hiring.
- Exceptional relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis to extract customer insights (eg churn analyses, product utilization, propensity models, etc)
- Proficiency with CRM tools (eg HubSpot) and data-driven decision-making.
- Preference towards candidates who have operated in account management functions during scale-up phases (eg Series A -> Series C )
Compensation:
Drug Hunter takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $125-$175k, with a bonus plan based on performance.
