Job Summary: This position involves duties associated with residential conduct and prevention, in addition to responsibilities related to residence life and student services within the Student Affairs Division. This includes managing residential facilities, supervising student staff, developing programs and services to encourage student involvement and satisfaction, and supporting housing processes and retention programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversees the conduct system within campus housing, ensuring all incidents are properly documented, tracked, and resolved in accordance with university policies; maintains an organized database of conduct cases for reporting and assessment purposes.

Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive conduct and prevention strategies tailored to the university's needs.

Conducts workshops and training sessions for students, faculty, and staff on topics related to student conduct, conflict resolution, and prevention.

Coordinates and collaborates with campus partners, including counseling services, campus safety, and academic departments, to support prevention initiatives.

Creates and distributes educational materials on prevention and conduct policies, ensuring accessibility and understanding among the student body.

Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of prevention programs, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.

Collaborates with local community organizations to enhance prevention efforts and resources available to students.

Organizes and leads a local Prevention Task Force to address emerging issues and trends in student behavior.

Coordinates campus-wide events and campaigns promoting healthy lifestyle choices and responsible behavior.

Oversees Panthers 4 Prevention (P4P) program and provides staff support to all P4P activities, events, and trips.

Assesses all P4P programs, executes all performer and agency contracts and riders, and communicates with agents. Meets weekly or as needed with P4P officers to coordinate events and activities.

Direct, live-on supervision of apartment-style residential facilities, including corresponding with students concerning housing matters, serving as a liaison between the students and administration, and the general and specific conditions of the hall, rooms, and common areas.

Corresponds with the Housing Office and Facilities Department concerning maintenance repair requests, work orders and following proper procedure.

Supervises student staff (Resident or Community Assistants) in conjunction with serving as a liaison and resource for residential students.

Co-supervises entire residential student staff of approximately 29 students; conducts weekly and monthly staff meetings and individual meetings with staff members as needed.

Assists with the Resident Assistant/Community Assistant selection process and training programs (fall, spring, ongoing).

Assists with the general and administrative activities for the Housing and Residence Life Office, including: the opening/closing of the residences for all break periods; social and educational programming in residential areas which is conducive to student safety, community engagement, and academic success; input to use in making policy decisions and implementation of policies and programs initiated from the Student Affairs Division; administering Health & Safety Checks for all residential units; and maintaining RD, RA, and CA training and operational manuals. Maintains administrative and informational records.

Meets individually with residents as needed for personal, academic, or discipline issues and assists in conflict resolution. Educates staff and students to self-enforce policies and respect the rights of others through community standards.

Assist with student conduct meetings and implementing appropriate educational programming and sanctions for policy violations.

Supports the university’s philosophy and its policies; represents the university in a positive manner.

On-call responsibilities as required in coordination with the Residence Life Office staff.

Serves on other departmental and staff committees as assigned.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must live on campus in a student housing facility.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Master’s degree preferred with two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Director of Housing and Residential Programs, supervises RAs and CAs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
