Position: Receptionist/Office Assistant
Reports To: Cemetery Director
Position Description: Perform reception duties as well as day-to-day operational tasks. Some entry level accounting, sales receipting, and general data entry. Perform record keeping tasks both digital and analog.

General Duties: Answer multi-line phone system, routing calls to appropriate staff members. Answer general questions. Maintain current and historical records, updating maps and searchable records. Filing and checking/answer emails. Speak with patrons, funeral homes and monument companies regarding services, fees, preplanning needs, and markers. Collecting/receipting fees from patrons and funeral homes. Process refunds and redesignations. Assist with accounting tasks and submit payments to bookkeeper. Schedule various appointments. Assist patrons with locating existing gravesites. Assist Service Director with the Funeral Service Schedule. Work with monument companies on regulations, locations, and facings. Assist in maintaining cemetery website and monitor public information. Post legal notices and assist with compliance. Become a public notary. Daily interaction with all staff to ensure coordination, transparency, and efficiency. Other duties as assigned.
Supplemental Information: This position involves working indoors and outdoors in public view and in inclement weather. Requires respectful engagement and tact with grieving individuals and families. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and bend, stoop, and work around organic clippings and occasional dust and fumes.
