This role involves estimating for water, fire, and mold remediation projects, ensuring that all work is accurately scoped, executed, and documented according to industry standards.

The position we are filling is for an Estimator (Xactimate proficiency mandatory), with a background in the restoration industry, particularly in creating scopes of work, estimating project costs, and managing job documentation. This position reports to our Novato, CA location. Applicants without previous Xactimate experience will not be considered.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write detailed scopes of work for water, fire, and mold remediation projects.
  • Prepare accurate estimates using Xactimate and other industry software.
  • Review and finalize job scopes with adjusters, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Assist Project Managers and Lead Technicians to ensure project success.
  • Reinforce job documention accountability with field pesonnel to ensure acurate estimation.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager on project coordination and outcome evaluation.
  • Track project financials and profitability to ensure job success.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, adjusters, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with A/P team on collection of oustanding amounts.
  • Insurance negotiation & settlements.
  • Maintain comprehensive job documentation for future reference and compliance.
  • Identify project risks and develop strategies to resolve issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotating schedule to assist in responding to water/fire emergencies after hours.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proficiency in Xactimate is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the disaster restoration or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of industry software and estimating processes.
  • Preferred certifications such as WRT, ASD, AMRT, or related qualifications.
  • A valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Independent & reliable work style with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Other Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Work Schedule: Willingness to work overtime, travel locally, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency services.
  • Background Check: Successful completion of a background check, subject to applicable laws.
  • Office Attendance: Report to Novato, CA at 7:30 a.m. each morning for daily stand-ups.
