What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Clerk position at Drylock Technologies LTD?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate Drylock Core Values: Safety, Respect, Ownership.
- Secures delivery appointment and schedules the transportation of customers’ orders in a manner to deliver on time. Responsible for load tendering, setup, and customs clearance.
- Generate required international shipping documents and provides them timely to forwarders to prevent delays.
- Follow up with carriers when appointment times are missed working closely with them for continuous improvement of the shared goal of on time delivery.
- Entry in different customer portals for scheduling and other applications.
- Tracks delivery misses for performance monitoring and escalates to Logistics Manager any Transportation Service Provider or Customer issues that are continuing without resolve and are affecting on time delivery
- Works closely with Customer Service on individual orders regarding ship dates, product availability, and transportation issues that could affect customer orders.
- Works closely with Warehouses to understand capacity and challenges and adjust shipping plans as needed.
- Performs clerical functions which include receiving, data entry, filing, mailing, answering telephones and performs other duties as needed.
- Understand carrier rates and fuel surcharge matrix, working closely with Logistics Manager for preferred carrier selection.
- Analyzes and reviews TSP performance data and makes recommendations and/or prepares reports.
- Responsible for carrier selection on prepaid LTL shipments using TMS system.
- Responsible for data collection and reporting for the department as assigned.
- Works closely with other team members and assists where and when needed.
- Department SAP resource.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years Logistics/Warehouse related experience
- Minimum 2 years consecutive employment with 1 employer
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Must be able to read and interpret work documents
- Must have the ability to work in teams
- Must have the ability to perform basic math
- Must have the ability to adapt to frequent changes
- Proficient in use of computer software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Work, Power Point, and Excel
- Quick and accurate data entry
