What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant/Receptionist position at DS Legacy Law, LLC?
DS Legacy Law, LLC, a law firm in West Bend, Wisconsin that specializes in estate planning, estate administration, business and real estate, is hiring a Receptionist/Legal Assistant.
Preference will be given to those who are able to work full-time, Monday through Friday, in the office, but we are willing to consider part-time hours for the right candidate, as well as limited remote work.
Initial duties will include, but are not limited to, answering phones, greeting clients, situating clients in our conference room, calendaring, forwarding calls or taking messages for our attorney and paralegal, assembling binders, preparing cover letters, doing mailings, shredding, and filing.
Depending on performance and comfort, other duties may include drafting legal documents (including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, Deeds, Leases, and Contracts), proofreading legal documents, filing and recording with courts or governmental agencies, assistance with probate and trust administrations, and meeting with clients.
While we are looking for a candidate with an undergraduate degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent, and with at least one year of paralegal experience, ideally in an estate planning or transactional setting, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Hourly pay will range between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus vacation, paid holidays, and retirement plan.
This position has a tremendous amount of opportunity for advancement, including possible promotion to a paralegal position and increases in pay dependent on work performance.
