What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at DSP Talent?
We are looking for Direct Support Professionals to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or mental illnesses. We invite talented and passionate professionals to join our team!
We have part-time and full-time openings in various locations across Orange County and Los Angeles County.
Duties may include:
- Supporting individuals in understanding and exercising their rights
- Improving social connections and relationships
- Providing transportation for those you are supporting
- Teaching skills to improve quality of life
- Assisting with personal hygiene and medical-related needs, including medication administration
- Providing documentation at the end of each shift
Requirements:
- Age 21
- The work can be physically demanding, such as assisting individuals with transfers to and from wheelchairs
- Experience with individuals exhibiting aggressive behaviors (e.g., biting, pulling, pushing, punching, kicking, running away) is appreciated
- A reliable vehicle is required for transportation on every shift
- Successfully pass all background checks
- Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license
Benefits are available for full-time employees.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
