Position Overview
DSS, Inc., a publicly traded portfolio company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a diverse organization operating across multiple industries. You will play a crucial role in shaping HR strategies, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with all employment regulations. This position is responsible for overseeing HR operations across various businesses under the DSS, Inc. umbrella.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with company leadership and department managers to align HR initiatives with business objectives and drive strategic success.
- Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and processes that support the company's growth and operational efficiency.
- Administer employee Payroll & benefits programs, including healthcare, disability, paid leave, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits.
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and participation in hiring events.
- Manage relationships and administration of temporary labor vendors.
- Manage employee engagement initiatives and coordinate recognition programs to enhance workplace morale and retention.
- Conduct new hire orientations and oversee the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition for new employees.
- Handle offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and administrative processing for departing employees.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities in collaboration with leadership to address workforce needs.
- Communicate HR updates and initiatives company-wide.
- Address employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and urgency.
- Establish and maintain a fair and competitive compensation structure.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain compliance with HR-related regulations, such as ACA, FMLA, FLSA, and 401(k) reporting.
- Review and update the employee handbook and policies as needed.
- Manage and maintain employee records with accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Oversee employee referral, recognition, and incentive programs.
- Support safety initiatives, training, and compliance in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
- Facilitate the performance review process to drive employee growth and accountability.
- Administer unemployment claims and maintain relationships with HR service vendors.
- Document and streamline HR processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Manage HR-related files and documentation in an organized digital system.
- Lead and participate in HR-related projects as needed to support company objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor and ability to engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR leadership experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
