Framer/Laborer

DSSI is seeking a skilled and dedicated Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in framing and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role involves working on residential and commercial projects, ensuring that structures are built to specifications and meet quality standards. The Framer will collaborate with other tradespeople and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and repair frameworks and structures made of wood or metal.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications.
• Utilize hand tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
• Frame walls, roofs, and floors according to design plans.
• Install drywall, siding, stucco, and plaster as required.
• Perform concrete finishing tasks as needed for foundation work.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Assist in heavy lifting of materials during the construction process.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized job site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Framer or in a similar construction role.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading is essential.
• Familiarity with various framing techniques including roof framing, drywall installation, siding application, stucco, and plaster work.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong skills in using hand tools effectively for construction tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
• Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
