POSITION: Director of Campus Based Operations

GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for both middle school and high school positions

SALARY: Starting at $72,000 - $87,000 for up to 10 years of aligned experience. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!

STATUS: Full time regular year round, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position (Denver, CO)

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The Director of Campus Operations is the owner of all campus operations at their school, and is responsible for managing the non-instructional operations tasks and projects at their school. The successful Director of Campus Operations will build on the Office Manager role and through his or her own work as well as the management of front office team members, will bring the highest level of excellence to management of campus operations. The Director of Campus Operations is a member of the School Admin Team and will participate in school leadership meetings to both support school leadership goals and to bring operational expertise to the team. The Director of Campus Operations works on the School Admin calendar and reports to the School Director.



Manage Vision and Execution of Campus Operations

  • Lead and manage front office teams
  • Manage Front Office Manager (FOM) and their oversight of the Front Office Assistant's (FOA) performance
  • Develop FOMs through weekly coaching meetings, etc. (includes performance reviews)
  • Own outcomes for the following through management of the FOM
  • Hospitality
  • Student Enrollment
  • Attendance
  • Finance and Cash Management
  • Intervention Communication/Processes
  • Health (ex. Manage DPS nurse, health processes, etc.)


Campus Operations

  • Manage subs and last minute absences (does not include approving absences); manages Aesop
  • ERCM: act as Site Incident Commander, manage our emergency response training and planning
  • Tech liaison: bridge the gap between tech manager and teachers/staff (ex. printers, laptop roll out, etc.)
  • Calendaring: work with FOMs to manage school shared Outlook calendars; oversee forward planning of FOMs
  • Oversee completion of Gifted and Talented plans
  • Manage planning and execution of major events (ex. conferences, field trips, 6-12 events like the Potluck)
  • Oversee all attendance processes, and lead all staff trainings on attendance process and procedures in IC
  • Own relationship with DPS Facility Manager and ensure that campus facility is clean, safe and well maintained by working in collaboration with the Facilities team. Serve as point-person for all parent/student questions and concern
  • Manage a system to reserve and track availability of school spaces
  • Lead relevant operations trainings with staff teams, which includes but is not limited to testing protocol, building access, attendance information, requesting and getting a sub, and ERCM
  • Scheduling: Manage campus scheduling (may include but is not limited to creation of the bell and class schedule, student schedules, IC entry, and alternative schedules)
  • Enrollment: Own and lead the full enrollment life cycle for the campus
  • Serve as a recruiter for new students; actively engage prospective families in an effort to draw more students to choose your school; be willing to take on additional tasks to support recruitment, as needed.


Testing/School Assessment Leader

  • Schedule, plan for, communicate, and execute internal testing (IAs, Finals, MAPs, PAs), including accommodations
  • Schedule, plan for, communicate, and execute external testing (PARCC, ACCESS, SAT), including accommodations
  • Manage campus completion of READ Act, DPS surveys, and other DPS Site Assessment Lead (SAL)-managed projects
  • Attend DPS training sessions for SAL-related responsibilities


Communications

  • Communications Manager: primary liaison between DPS, CHU, HO Ops, and MS to HS (ex. DPS Transportation, food service, nursing services, etc.
  • Oversee weekly/monthly communication home to families (HS and MS)
  • Oversee regular communication to families (and prospective families), including systems that bolster campus wide outcomes/goals. These include but are not limited to: progress reports, interventions communication, campus events, fee collection, robo calls, attendance letters, surveys, paychecks (MS), Open Houses, Orientations, and recruiting opportunities
  • Manage and update the school website and Facebook page]
  • Contribute to Weekly Staff Memos with any Operations-related communication/announcements/updates


Network Operations Leadership

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of all Front Office professional development
  • Create training materials and actively contribute to a community of practice of front office team members
  • Present and share best practices at Front Office Professional Learning Development (PLD) sessions that align with DSST mission and core values
  • Collaborate with the Home Office Operations team to continually streamline and improve front office processes


Additional Duties

  • Manage and oversee Substitute System for the school system
  • Recruit and hire high school faculty
  • Participate in network wide Professional Learning Programs
  • If applicable, teach one course within the school
  • If applicable, act as a student advisor for a group of 12-15 students


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required or enrollment in a DSST-approved Bachelor’s program
  • 3 years of experience in schools or in school based operations required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, manage and lead adults to successful outcomes
  • An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
  • Desire to personally professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist educator
  • Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve


IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required.
