SUMMARY

The Local Truck Driver position is responsible to remain alert while operating tractor / semi-trailers intra and inter-state between company and customer's facilities. The position will mainly pull van trailers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives semi-tractor / trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more.
• P&D locally
• Backs trailers to customer dock
• Maintains compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior.
• Communicates with customer representatives in pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner.
• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
• Complies with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing (subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing).
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
• Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
• Applies tire chains in inclement weather when required
• Swings and secures trailer doors.
• Performs other duties as required

For this position, the expected base pay is : $25.00 - $30.00 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
