Local Driver

Job Summary
I'm seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join my team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated local routes. This position requires a strong understanding of driving practices, ability to read and understand English, able to maintain time management, loading/unloading skills, good driving record, ability to pass drug test, ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and able to show up to work on time Monday-Friday. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate cargo vehicle to transport goods to various local locations.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload as necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or delays.

Experience

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with route driving and logistics processes is essential.
• Knowledge of goods handling procedures and safety protocols is required.
• Previous experience with cargo driving is advantageous but not mandatory.
