Job Description
This position is located in the Operating Room, nursing branch of Gallup Indian Medical Center. All types of elective and emergency surgeries are performed, including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, Oral Surgery, Dental and Ophthalmology. There are over 2400 cases performed each year. Trauma is a significant part of the emergent cases performed. The operating rooms are staffed by utilizing standby call services after hours, holidays, and on weekends.
The OR registered nurse is responsible for all emergencies including trauma and fetal distress C-sections. Responsibilities include total perioperative nursing care, observing and assessing patient's health status and critically ill emergency patients, initiating treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of physician pre- and post-operative orders, protocols and anesthesia protocols.

Shift:
80 Hrs Per Pay Period / 8 Hr Day Shifts Mon Fri/ includes Wknds and Holidays, Stand by Call rotation
