Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team. Diamond Truck & Trailer is an established truck & trailer repair company in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago looking to hire additional mobile diesel technicians that have the skills and experience to maintain, diagnose, and repair tractors and trailers.

Essential Functions and Expectations :

• Ability to diagnose failures and perform repairs on tractors and trailers
• Perform emergency on-site high quality and efficient repair services for various vehicle components for tractors and trailers
• Able to thoroughly perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including completion of DOT forms and all other customer provided forms in a timely fashion
• Receive and carry out service orders
• Perform quality control checks for repaired vehicle to ensure repairs are complete
• Works with the Parts Department to ensure that all necessary materials, parts, and shop supplies are properly on service orders.
• Ability to work unsupervised on most tasks / can work independently
• Proficient with an electrical meter (digital multimeter) and testing
• Hydraulics operation and maintenance
• Capable of using a computer and diagnostic equipment
• Performs other maintenance duties or assignments when necessary
• Maintains organized and clean workspace. Keeps account of company and personal tools at all times

Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel technician
• Posses a valid driver's license
• Must be able to obtain CDL
• Must own tools (preferably)
• Able to lift up to 100 LB
• Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills
• Great mechanical, electrical, and computing skills

Schedule :

• Looking to hire multiple shifts - operates 24 / 7 mobile road service
• Overtime and commission available upon request

Job Location :

• We service customer's within an approximate 50 mile radius of our shop located in Elk Grove Village, IL. We do provide emergency mobile road service, which does at times include jobs on the side of the highway.
• Working conditions : while performing duties of this job, the mechanic is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, cold, and / or humid conditions. Will also be moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate.
