DuBois Integrity Academy (DIA) is hiring a Human Resource Associate to provide internal customer support to team members and management. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy's academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement : STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning. A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all learners.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide comprehensive support for human resources operations, including onboarding new employees, labor law compliance, familiarity with employee benefits programs, employee policies and guidelines, and payroll processes. Position requires the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality, maintaining the privacy of employees and any / all related matters.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION :
Preferred Educational Requirement : Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
- Administrative experience : proficiency in handling office tasks such as filing, data entry, scheduling and record-keeping.
- Customer Service : Experience in roles that involve interacting with people, resolving issues, and providing support.
- Familiarity with payroll and onboarding processes, Federal and State Labor Laws and Workers Compensation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Communication Skills : Ability to effectively convey information and ideas in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
Interpersonal Skills : Ability to foster positive relationships with employees (team player) and management, and minimize conflicts.
Organizational Skills : Ability to multi-task.
Detail Oriented : Ensure accuracy of all processes.
Problem Solving Skills : Proactively identify and evaluate issues and implement solutions.
Human Resource Systems : Familiarity with human resource systems or ability to comprehend quickly and efficiently.
Understanding of Labor Laws : Knowledge and compliance of labor and employment laws.
Employee Relations : Address employee concerns and mediate when applicable; promote a positive work environment.
HUMAN RESOURCE DUTIES
Onboarding : Post job vacancies, arranging background checks and follow up, facilitating the onboarding process of new employees, and preparation of contracts; ensuring receipt of all required documentation.
Employee Records Management : Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and documentation related to employees, including attendance, leave, etc. Maintain and update human resource system, ensuring accuracy, and create reports as needed. Professional Standards Commission compliance for all certified employees, maintain employee records in the Teacher Retirement System, Automatic Data Processing, Professional Employer Organization databases, etc.
Payroll and Benefits Administration : Initial Payroll set up and terminations, including job coding and addressing payroll and benefit inquiries.
Employee Relations : Address employee concerns to the appropriate staff.
Health and Safety : Reporting injuries and / or health related incidents appropriately to the Workers Compensation Department. Ensure Workers' Compensation materials are posted appropriately at all sites.
Basic Duties : Respond to phone and email inquiries in a professional and efficient manner; file and maintain human resource records.
