Fabrication Shop Worker

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with various fabrication tools and techniques. The fabrication position entails creating custom metal components for HVAC and plumbing systems by precisely measuring, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal according to blueprints and project specifications, utilizing various hand tools and machinery to fabricate ductwork, pipe sections, and other necessary parts for installation within a building.

Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Measure and precisely cut required pieces using power shears, saws, or other cutting tools
• Utilize metal bending machines to create desired shapes and angles on sheet metal components
• Joining metal pieces together using appropriate welding techniques
• Inspecting fabricated parts for accuracy, fit and compliance with project specifications, ensuring proper functionality and aesthetics
• Operating machinery and other specialized tools to fabricate complex parts
• Coordinating with installation crews to ensure smooth integration of fabricated components

Requirements:

• 2-5 years’ experience in Industrial or Commercial fabrication
• Thorough understanding of sheet metal properties, cutting techniques, bending methods, and welding procedures
• Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and plans to translate them into physical components
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• High level of precision and accuracy; Must have attention to detail
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and work in various positions throughout the day
