The Network Systems Analyst is responsible for administering and overseeing many systems and networking technology related services for Dubuque County. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting many components and related technologies across all locations in Dubuque County.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Network Hardware: Configures network hardware such as servers, routers, switches and creates documentation for all County hardware.Security Camera System: Designs, programs, secures, configures and installs security cameras.Wireless Networks: Performs wireless RF site surveys, installs, configures, and maintains wireless network equipment.Helpdesk: Handles the more technical issues that might be network or server related. Also provides backup coverage.Manages Datacenter and other Telecommunication Rooms: Manages rack servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.Door Access System: Programs access cards for employees across all of County facilities.System Setup and Configuration: Operating System Installation and Configuration: Installs and configures secure operating systems i.e., Windows on servers and workstations. Hardware Maintenance: Manages servers both physical and virtual including all troubleshooting, connectivity, and performance related issues.Server and Service Management: System Administration: Configures and maintains servers and workstations to support all enterprise applications and services.Server and Application Monitoring: Reviews and monitors server and application performance, resource utilization, and implements changes to optimize performance.Security and Access Control: Patch Management: Applies security updates to all systems and applications.Access Control: Manages user access and permissions on all systems and applications.Threat Monitoring: Proactively monitors security alerts and events to identify potential threats.

Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary to use hands and arms to reach, finger, handle, grasp and feel to operate computers and other equipment.Work EnvironmentPrimarily work is in an office setting.Occasional travel.Work hours may vary and include nights and weekends.Occasional stressful interactions when dealing with irate individuals and/or time constraints.
