POSITION DESCRIPTION

LEAD CASINO HOUSEKEEPER

BASIC FUNCTION

Lead the overall housekeeping in the casino, main offices, and back-of-the-house daily. Completion of all required cleaning on each shift will be tracked on a cleaning checklist, which will be inspected by the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Operations Shift Managers.  

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

a)   Reports to:      Director of Facilities, Operations Managers, and Operations Shift Managers

b)   Supervises:      Casino Housekeepers

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Checks-in Janitorial employees at beginning of each shift
• Trains, assigns, and inspects the following duties of Janitorial staff members:
• Sweeping, mopping, waxing, polishing of floors, furniture, woodwork, fixtures, machines, and equipment
• Washing windows and walls
• Vacuuming, scrubbing, and spot-cleaning carpets
• Cleaning, scrubbing mirrors, urinals, toilets and maintaining supplies in the restrooms
• Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles
• Maintains janitorial supplies and equipment
• Notifies management concerning need for repairs
• Relay information to Director of Facilities

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years janitorial experience
• Prior supervisory experience desired

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Basic oral communication skills to give directions
• Basic written communication skills to complete reports
• Good leadership skills
• Knowledge of all Janitorial procedures and equipment

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Pushing, pulling, standing, walking
• Occasionally must wear safety glasses

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

• Worker is subject to indoor and minimum outdoor environmental conditions
• Subject to some noise and exposure to chemicals
• Subject to atmospheric conditions affecting respiratory system or skin (dusts and     cigarette smoke)

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

• General office equipment including, but not limited to:
• Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
