Position Summary:
The project manager oversees all aspects of projects from inception to completion. Works directly with customers to make products based on specifications, schedules, and quality needs. Duties consist of quoting projects, preparing orders, planning material purchases and manufacturing operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Will consider an application without a degree if relevant work experience is greater than 5 years in a similar role.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of projects.
Familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures. Utilizes good judgement and decision-making skills to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others.
General Duties:
- Project Managers/Estimators (PME) are responsible for securing and developing lasting relationships with new customers and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
- Have sufficient knowledge of Manufacturing Technology and use those skills to provide competitive quotes to customers and built to print projects awarded to Ducworks.
- Understand basic machining and welding principles and processes. As a member of the Ducworks team we collectively work together to offer manufacturing solutions to complex parts and assemblies. Planning and organizing work orders will include the order of manufacturing operations.
- Be familiar with ERP systems and use them to manage materials, labor, outside vendors, and costs. Ducworks uses Global Shop Solutions to organize and run all projects large and small.
- Coordinate and plan each project to ensure on-time delivery, profitability, and high quality.
- Be familiar with Quality Assurance principles and quality clauses for each project. Ducworks works with all industries and various quality standards will apply on different levels. Ducworks Quality Manual will outline expectations for how to accomplish successful completion for any project.
- Understand basic blueprint reading and solid modeling programs. Customers will send us projects in drawing and model form.
- Communication is critical for Project Managers and will be required to manage all projects. Coordination within the different departments at Ducworks is primarily done through email, ERP systems, Work Order Routers, PO’s, Scheduling and Production meetings.
