What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic I Farm position at Duda Human Resources Team?
Duda Farm Fresh Foods is currently looking for a Mechanic I to join our Farm Shop team in Belle Glade, Florida. As a Mechanic I, the mechanic should be knowledgeable in all equipment used on the farm. Under limited supervision, should perform work in the diagnostic, overhaul, adjustment, repair and maintenance of farm vehicles and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Completes required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road.
Usually well-lighted and ventilated.
Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools.
These factors require following basic safety precautions.
Food safety is everyone’s job and any problem identified should be reported.
Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.
Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.
Correct utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
5 or more years in farm equipment mechanics; hydraulic knowledge.
Ability to lift 80 lbs.
Regular climbing, stooping and bending required.
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with managers, equipment operators, and Farm Shop team.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient communication skills; Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver License
First Aid Certificate/CPR Training (Company will train)
