About The Job
We are seeking an experienced CloudOps/ SRE Intern to join team with expertise in database management and configuration in AWS.
The pay range for this position is <$28>. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
What You'll Be Doing (responsibilities)
- Install, configure, and monitor SQL server databases in a 24X7 enterprise hybrid cloud environment.
- Support mission-critical SQL databases with advanced troubleshooting skills for performance and tuning.
- Develop, implement, and administer data security, Data retention and integrity policies and procedures.
- Implement and monitor backup processes and procedures and ensure point-in-time recoverability of the environment.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes, for efficiency and cost optimization.
- Creates, maintains, and documents processes for managing productiondatabasesystems.
- Should be able to keep him/herself up to date with the latest technology trends.
- Hands-on experience in supporting and implementing Always-on SQL deployment.
- Apply SQL Server patches on regular cycles and regarding environment restrictions and maintenance windows.
- Performs capacity planning including future storage requirements.
- NoSQL database knowledge will be an added advantage.
What you need (requirements)
- Working towards a Bachelor's in computer science or related discipline
* Experience with most (but not necessarily all):
o AWS (Azure a plus)
o SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL
o SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Couchbase, RedShift
o SentryOne , Datadog, CloudWatch
o Jenkins, DACPACs, Redgate tools
o Bitbucket, GitHub, SVN
o PowerShell, Bash, Python (C# or GO a plus)
o Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, SAM
- Multi-Cloud experience will be preferred.
- Experience with SQL Clustering and Availability Groups and database replication.
- Experience with monitoring and provisioning SQL Server in AWS/Azure.
- Ability to automate redundant tasks using scripts, jobs, and other technologies.
- Strong communication, partnership, teamwork and influencing skills required.
- Experience with source control, with database engineering background.
