PLACE OF WORK:
Dugway Proving Ground is seeking applicants for an Engineering Technician for the Range Support Branch in the Test Support Division located on Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Responsibilities:
Serves as a technical consultant in matters relating to the structural design of facilities and test fixtures. Consults with other engineers, team members, test customers, and a senior technician to provide advisement on factors to be considered in design and selection of materials. Consults with engineers, test customers and construction personnel to resolve difficult and complex, unforeseen problems and latent conditions. As a subject matter expert, reviews and evaluates shop drawings, samples, and material certifications for performance requirements, recommending approval, rejection, or receipt. Performs or directs surveys and investigations of structures of varying sizes and structural complexities with unusual stress problems due to size and type of materials which are incorporated into them. Must be knowledgeable and have experience with all areas of construction practices and principles.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for the GS-11: In order to be found qualified, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience: 1. Preparing technical specifications for use in structural design of facilities or test fixtures. 2 Assists with project cost estimates. 3. Working construction projects dealing with wood framing, placement of concrete, and steel erection. 4. Maintenance of portable generators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Position requires a pre-employment and annual physical to ensure incumbent is physically capable and will require to wear appropriate PPE.

- This position requires to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Forklift, Aerial Man-Lift, Semi-Truck certifications required within 6 months of employment, via Army Master Driver Program.
- Must obtain a CDL w/Hazmat endorsement within 12 months of employment.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- A trial/probationary period may be required.
